Monday Night Group–Unknown Armies

The Lamentations of the Flame Princess campaign is on hold (as I’ve been busy with a couple of writing projects). We just did a run of a Cyberpunk 2020 game with one of the players Refereeing. And tonight another player began running Unknown Armies 3rd Edition.

We’re looking into why the Governor of Michigan poisoned he water of Flint.

I’m playing Philip, a homeless man who is an Adept practicing Artemancy. He creates drawing that change the world.

Phillip has no last name. It went like this:

GM: And what’s Phillip’s last name?
ME: He doesn’t have one. (beat) It was taken. By someone. He doesn’t have one anymore.
(Long silence as everyone at the table realizes that in an Unknown Armies game, this is possible and kind of spooked.)

All in all I had a blast with Phillip. Coming up with cool ways for him to solve problems or get into trouble with his art amused me and the whole table.

Here’s a sample of some of the magical effects:

His Taboo is taking care of himself. His obsession is creating, at the expense of taking care of himself. If he avoids eating he can gather magical charges. If he refuses medical care, he can get major charges.

I’m really looking forward to the next session.
